Time Traveler
There’s a book on my shelf
they filled it with memories
when I open it’s pages
I remember a room
I sat in the corner
she sat in the other
long hair without a designated color
a soft voice but we all heard her
I saw her eyes once
but there was no wire
and she saw mine
but there was no wonder
It was a clue I never pondered
to her I was just another.
Years are to fly like a snow tornado
up in the sky it’s as hot as a volcano
years are to melt by the heat of the sun
once a year goes by it freezes the gun
There are tales we love to tell
of a place we all knew very well
with a view that could compel
light a candle in the dusk
And you will see what we saw
I walked through the door
and she was there again
she looked at me and
…I looked at the floor
it was some kind of force
a game of clue with fate
and in my ignorance…
I eat the words I should have said
Years are to fly like a snow tornado
up in the sky it’s as hot as a volcano
years are to melt by the heat of the sun
once a year goes by it freezes the gun
There was a night we can all recall
the sky caught on fire
Like god said face your fears
cause here comes the trial
In the blindness my shadow cast in front of me
I ran for the safer high ground
and she was behind me
Like time decided this was it
and fate said good luck
I finally got the clue
and suddenly we both knew.
Curl up in a quilt
The warmth it creates
is sewn together
in the form of a pattern
